Comics Art Forum XV

November 6th-8th I will be in Savannah as a guest of the Savannah College of Art & Design's Fifteenth Annual Comics Art Forum! You can read all about the details here, but basically I'll be at SCAD all weekend taking part in a panel discussion, giving portfolio reviews, teaching workshops, and attending an exhibition featuring original art of mine and the other visiting artists. Here's the basic schedule:

Thursday, November 6th

6:00-8:00pm Panel Discussion @ Arnold Hall Auditorium.

Friday, November 7th

10:00am-1:00pm Workshop #1 (Norris Hall)
2:30pm-5:00pm Portfolio Reviews

Saturday, November 8th
11:00am-2:00pm Workshop #2 (Norris Hall)
6:00pm-8:00pm Reception at the Red Gallery

And here's the info on workshop that I'll be having:

Creative Problem Solving

There is more than one way to write a comic! Weiser will discuss a method for writing and conceptualizing that can jump-start the creative process and battle issues like writer’s block. He will show examples from his work as well as others. Students will then challenge each other using an unconventional writing method provided by Weiser, and each produce a one-page collaborative comic. Please bring drawing/inking supplies and at least one piece of bristol.

The workshops and portfolio reviews are for students, of course, but the panel discussion and the gallery reception are open to the public! So if you're in the area please stop by and say "hello!" As for the students in SCAD, I look forward to seeing and/or meeting you, working together with you, and hanging out! It's going to be a great weekend, so I'll see you there!

SPX Report

I'm back from SPX, and I had a great time! I wrote a small report at my blog. Kept it short. Next year, I'll have to force myself to take photos! Well, it was very nice meeting/seeing you all. I miss you already!!
